Praxis: Climbing Bookshelf
The impetus for ‘Praxis: Climbing Bookshelf’ came from questioning the nature of the relationship between our bodies and the environments we construct and inhabit. Starting from children’s playgrounds and school games—adopting to corporate office spaces and various forms of industrial manufacturing—we later search for physical compensation in gym environments, yet often isolated in the social. The bookshelf suggests how to counteract commodifications’ impact on daily environments—with fun and play—trying to bridge the gap between theory and practice. Praxis, here proposing a progression of realising, engaging and exercising ideas together, and thus embodying a passage of a cyclical process from ‘high’ knowledge to experience.
